{"content":"**Report on MACVA Remembrance Day 2025**  \n\n**Date:** Sunday 21 September 2025  \n**Venue:** Tugu Negara, Kuala Lumpur\n\n![](pictures/activity/2025-09-21-Macva-Remembrance-Day1.jpg)\n\nThe Malaysian Armed Forces Chinese Veterans Association (MACVA) successfully held its annual **Remembrance Day** ceremony today at Tugu Negara, Kuala Lumpur.\n\nThe solemn event was attended by over **100 veterans** together with approximately **50 civilians and family members**, including Sikh, Indian, and Siamese veterans, reflecting the unity and diversity within our veteran community.We take great pride and honour in having been graced by the presence of numerous distinguished guests at today’s ceremony.\n\nThe ceremony began with the rendition of **Negaraku** and **Inilah Barisan Kita**, followed by the **wreath-laying ceremony** in honour of those who made the ultimate sacrifice.\n\nThe solemn moment concluded with the sounding of the **Last Post**, marking the end of the formal proceedings.\n\n![](pictures/activity/2025-09-21-Macva-Remembrance-Day2.jpg)\n\nMACVA extends special thanks to **Maj David Chow Yun Kai (retired)**, who shared an inspiring reading on the _Significance of Tugu Negara_, and to **Maj Chandra Mohan RMAF (retired)** for his moving recital of the poem _Stand With Me_, both of which added depth and meaning to the ceremony.\n\nAfter the ceremony, veterans and guests were invited to Tugu Plaza where they were treated to light refreshments, providing an opportunity for fellowship and camaraderie.\n\nMACVA also wishes to record our sincere appreciation to **PVTLDM Sibu**, whose representatives travelled to attend the event and presented a **Native Sarawak vest** to MACVA President Wong Ah Jit as a token of friendship and solidarity.\n\nFinally, our heartfelt thanks to **all MACVA committee members** for their dedication and effort in planning and executing this annual event, ensuring its continued success and meaningfulness.\n\nThe event was a meaningful reminder of the sacrifices of our fallen heroes and the enduring bonds among veterans across services and communities.\n\n![](pictures/activity/2025-09-21-Macva-Remembrance-Day8.jpg)\n\nReport By:\n\nMary Koh  \nVP RMN","original_url":"https://macva.org.my/","word_count":302,"key_claims":["Malaysian Armed Forces Chinese Veterans Association","Remembrance Day 21 Sep 2025 at Tugu Negara"],"content_summary":"MACVA is a veterans association organizing remembrance events at Tugu Negara.","expertise_signals":["Veterans organization","Remembrance coordination"]}
