A slave to others and their choices. A slave to my own emotions. A slave to time, week by week, time goes flying by but after all those days and nights... I still don't know what I should find my contentment and happiness in. I still don't know how to make my decisions. I still have my devotion spread thin in all directions.\n\n ![](https://s3-ap-southeast-1.amazonaws.com/media.kvwc.org.my/img/Devoted-KlangValleyWomensConference-hero-mother.jpg)\n\nSo many things to decide. A woman's life can be so hard. When I sit, it only comforts my feet. I don't feel rested. When I lie down, my body feels better. I don't know if this is rest. When I lean on someone's shoulder or hold someone's hand, it is warm on my skin but it doesn't answer my questions. How shall I decide the many things I must face? What perspective should I take of my short life here on earth? Why should I devote all my time and energy to what I do?\n\n![Devoted KVWC Klang Valley Women's Conference](https://s3-ap-southeast-1.amazonaws.com/media.kvwc.org.my/img/Devoted-KlangValleyWomensConference-logo.png)\n\nA Klang Valley Women's Conference designed by women, for women in the busyness of life - Calling for our purposeful devotion to our Lord and Saviour\n\n**Date:** 23-24 October 2026 \n**Speaker:** Dr. Claire Smith\n\n![](https://s3-ap-southeast-1.amazonaws.com/media.kvwc.org.my/img/Devoted-KlangValleyWomensConference-about1.jpg) ![](https://s3-ap-southeast-1.amazonaws.com/media.kvwc.org.my/img/Devoted-KlangValleyWomensConference-about2.jpg)\n\n![](https://s3-ap-southeast-1.amazonaws.com/media.kvwc.org.my/img/Devoted-KlangValleyWomensConference-claire-smith.jpg)\n\n### Dr. Claire Smith\n\n_Author of \"God's Good Design\"_\n\nClaire Smith is a respected Bible teacher, theologian, and author with a deep passion for helping women understand and live out God's Word with clarity and conviction. She holds a PhD in New Testament from Moore Theological College and the University of Western Sydney, in which she focused on four of Paul's letters and the place and practice of teaching in New Testament churches.\n\nHer book, God’s Good Design: What the Bible Really Says About Men and Women, has challenged and encouraged readers around the world to embrace the beauty of biblical complementarity in both home and church life.\n\nClaire is a sought-after speaker at women’s conferences and theological training events across Australia and internationally. She and her husband Rob are members of Naremburn-Cammeray Anglican Church in Sydney and have an adult son.\n\nHear from Women Like You\n\n![Nereeta](https://s3-ap-southeast-1.amazonaws.com/media.kvwc.org.my/img/testimonial/nereeta1.jpeg)\n\n### Nereeta\n\n\"Devoted was my first conference since becoming a mum, and God used it to realign my heart to Christ—anchoring both my womanhood and motherhood in His truth, and reigniting a deep desire for Him again.\"\n\n![Nereeta](https://s3-ap-southeast-1.amazonaws.com/media.kvwc.org.my/img/testimonial/nereeta1.jpeg)\n\n### Nereeta\n\nDevoted was my first conference since becoming a mother. When my friend, Jan invited me, I thought, “Why not? Maybe it’s time I spend some time learning more about God again.”\n\nI still remember arriving and being struck by how beautiful the decorations were! Honestly, every detail was so thoughtful and intentional. You could tell the team had poured their hearts into it. First thing I did? Bought a T-shirt!\n\nSo—why _Devoted?_\n\nAs a mum to a little girl, I’ve become increasingly aware of how inconsistent the world’s definitions of womanhood and devotion can be. (Not that I follow the world—haha!) But seriously, I’ve realised how much I need God’s truth to shape what I believe, how I think, and how I feel—not culture or opinion.\n\nAt Devoted, I was reminded and reassured again that Jesus came to save and redeem. He has redeemed _me_—my whole being. And because of that, I am called to behold Him, to taste and see that the Lord is good.\n\nI’m not “there” yet—but Devoted helped me realign my heart and devotion to Christ alone: the Wonderful Saviour who says in His Word that He is for me, and that while I was still a sinner, Christ died for me.\n\nGod used Devoted to reignite a deep desire for Him again. And one year later, I’m still singing these words:\n\n> “And if He has redeemed me, I am not my own \n> The measure of my worth is His love alone \n> He declares my standing, and He declares my state \n> So I will know myself by the name He gave \n> I belong to the Lord, oh, I am not my own.”\n\nPraise be to God for His unfailing love.\n\n![Patricia Lee](https://s3-ap-southeast-1.amazonaws.com/media.kvwc.org.my/img/testimonial/patricia.jpeg)\n\n### Patricia Lee\n\n\"At 70, I’m still growing in God’s Word. Devoted 2024 reminded me that no matter the season, I can still live fully for Him.\"\n\n![Patricia Lee](https://s3-ap-southeast-1.amazonaws.com/media.kvwc.org.my/img/testimonial/patricia.jpeg)\n\n### Patricia Lee\n\nAt 70, I’m still learning. Still growing.\n\nDevoted reminded me that being a woman devoted to God is something I can keep living out—at home, in church, or wherever He places me. I left encouraged, knowing that no matter the season, there’s still so much I can do to reflect His love.\n\nThis wasn’t actually my first conference—the first was CTC, which moved me and made me want to learn more. So when I heard about this thing called _Devoted_, a conference just for women, I was curious to see what it was all about.\n\nFrom the moment I arrived, I could tell this space was made with women in mind—the pink tones and flowers that decorated the event. But what truly moved me was the rich teaching, the small group reflections, and the warmth of being with sisters in Christ.\n\nAfter the conference, I felt led to start a small monthly contribution to support GGF’s ministry. It is my way of giving thanks to God and joining in His work through this conference.\n\nI’m already looking forward to the next Devoted conference. I hope more young and older women like me will come to learn what it means to be a devoted woman for our Lord.\n\n![Shu Yan](https://s3-ap-southeast-1.amazonaws.com/media.kvwc.org.my/img/testimonial/shuyan.jpeg)\n\n### Shu Yan\n\n\"Devoted exposed the fact that I have not been living as the woman I was designed to be.\"\n\n![Shu Yan](https://s3-ap-southeast-1.amazonaws.com/media.kvwc.org.my/img/testimonial/shuyan.jpeg)\n\n### Shu Yan\n\nWriting this reflection was challenging because Devoted exposed the fact that I have not been living as the woman I was designed to be. While I may have known this, deep down, I did not want to listen. However, hearing the stories of the struggles of my sisters and seeing their radical devotion to the Lord, I am confronted with the fact that I cannot continue in hiding my sin. The only way to be a God-fearing woman who loves and appreciates His creation mandate is to recalibrate my mind to the Word of the Lord; struggling with it till the end.\n\nDevoted really made me reflect on myself in light of God's design. Who am I to hold onto my selfish desires? He made us to be like Him even though we do not deserve it — to embody His character and fill the world with His goodness and glory, be it as a man, woman, single, or married.\n\n![Mercy Chong](https://s3-ap-southeast-1.amazonaws.com/media.kvwc.org.my/img/testimonial/mercy.jpeg)\n\n### Mercy Chong\n\n\"Growing up, I always used to think that being a helper meant being like a \"kakak\" but I learnt through the talks that I was so wrong.\"\n\n![Mercy Chong](https://s3-ap-southeast-1.amazonaws.com/media.kvwc.org.my/img/testimonial/mercy.jpeg)\n\n### Mercy Chong\n\nGrowing up, I always used to think that being a helper meant being like a \"kakak\" but I learnt through the talks that I was so wrong. Being a helper does not mean we are inferior but it is actually a wonderful role designed specifically for us to build the Church up.\n\nDevoted’s talks really helped me see the wrong assumptions I had which led to a life of individualistic passivity. I’m still learning about how our role as women help the Church so keep me in your prayers sisters and see you next year!\n\n![Chara Chin](https://s3-ap-southeast-1.amazonaws.com/media.kvwc.org.my/img/testimonial/chara.jpeg)\n\n### Chara Chin\n\n\"It was incredible to learn and reflect with my sisters in Christ on what it means to be a true helper.\"\n\n![Chara Chin](https://s3-ap-southeast-1.amazonaws.com/media.kvwc.org.my/img/testimonial/chara.jpeg)\n\n### Chara Chin\n\nIt was incredible to learn and reflect with my sisters in Christ on what it means to be a true helper. I used to lean toward a feminist perspective, thinking I could be the decision-maker in the family, but through the conference, I learned from Scripture that men are called to lead as they imitate Christ, and women reflect the Church by humbly submitting to that leadership. Everything should flow from Christ at the center, and women are called to build up God's Church alongside our husbands, complementing each other.\n\nI also realized the importance of parenting, especially a mother’s role in nurturing her children. God’s Word should take deep roots and transform how we live—leading to us being intentional in raising our children to grow in the faith.\n\nConferences like this are so needed for Christian women in the Klang Valley as they address issues often not addressed from the pulpit. As Titus 2 teaches, older women should guide younger women in living godly lives, and this conference was a powerful example of that. Thank you again for making this experience possible—it was truly a blessing!\n\n![Sandra Ng](https://s3-ap-southeast-1.amazonaws.com/media.kvwc.org.my/img/testimonial/sandra.jpeg)\n\n### Sandra Ng\n\n\"Devoted means a lot to me because I’ve always felt isolated due to past experiences that made me lose trust in women.\"\n\n![Sandra Ng](https://s3-ap-southeast-1.amazonaws.com/media.kvwc.org.my/img/testimonial/sandra.jpeg)\n\n### Sandra Ng\n\nDevoted means a lot to me because I’ve always felt isolated due to past experiences that made me lose trust in women. The night activities and lunch discussions gave me the chance to connect with other sisters and challenged me to reflect on how I can support my sisters better by opening up to them.\n\nThe talks were really eye-opening too as I realised that I viewed being a \"helper\" in a degrading light. Now, I see how men and women are designed to complement each other with different roles and this realization has changed how I view myself as a woman. This wouldn’t be possible without Devoted, so thank you once again sisters!\n\n![Kianna Teo](https://s3-ap-southeast-1.amazonaws.com/media.kvwc.org.my/img/testimonial/kianna1.jpeg)\n\n### Kianna Teo\n\n\"Devoted was my first ever GGF conference and it was a real eye opener as to what it really meant to be a woman devoted to God.\"\n\n![Kianna Teo](https://s3-ap-southeast-1.amazonaws.com/media.kvwc.org.my/img/testimonial/kianna1.jpeg)\n\n### Kianna Teo\n\nDevoted was my first ever GGF conference and it was a real eye opener as to what it really meant to be a woman devoted to God. I used to have a negative stigma to what it meant to submit and had a modern progressive worldview — not realizing that God has a specific purpose and design for women.\n\nI learned about the significant differences between men and women; how instead of being against each other in our differences, we’re meant to complement. Since we’ve all been tainted by sin since the fall, we often want to act on our own autonomy. But now I come to see that God’s love is redemptive, self-giving, faithful, and expansive — through God’s love who has saved us, the differences between redeemed men and women of God should reflect God’s holy love toward one another.\n\n[Register now](/register)\n\nFollow us on Instagram \n[@devoted.kvwc](https://www.instagram.com/devoted.kvwc/)\n\nQuestions? Hence, the conference intends to create a comfortable and focused environment exclusively for women. Although, on occasion, you might see a few men helping with our conference operations behind the scenes, the sessions and activities are for women only.\n\nBesides that, we encourage men to seize the opportunity to serve their wives (in serving Jesus too!) by taking care of the household and spending quality dad time with the little ones at home so that mommy can spend some time away, being enlightened by the scriptures to be a better mom/wife for the family.\n\nIf necessary, men can bring the children to the conference, where we will have crèche facilities. Do take note that there will be a fee for the food and accommodation of husbands / men joining the conference for childcare purposes (2D1N = RM235).\n\nCan I bring my children?\n\nYes, you can! Just keep in mind that there will be a small fee for their food and accommodation (2D1N = RM190) for children between the age of 5-12 year old.\n\nWill there be childcare or creche services?\n\nYes, we've set aside a special space (it is separate from the main hall) for mothers who want a more private spot to take care of their babies or to breastfeed. It even has an adjoining toilet! Plus, kids can hang out there and play with other little ones. We will livestream the talk session into this area so that mothers can still benefit from the conference while taking care of their little ones.\n\nWhen can we check in to our rooms?\n\n3pm on Friday.\n\nWhat do I need to bring?\n\nYou would want to bring a Bible and your favourite note-taking tools such as a notebook and pen/pencil, laptop or iPad to take notes during the talks / electives. Also, due to the temperature both inside and outside, oftentimes the main hall air-conditioner is hard to regulate to make everyone comfortable, so you will want to carry a light jacket or sweater with you.\n\nWhat should I wear?\n\nSmart Casual. We also recommend that if you are usually cold, bring a sweater; if you’re usually warm, layer so you can be comfortable. We recommend long pants, jeans or a skirt, and comfortable shoes.\n\nIs there an option for non-stay over?\n\nWe offer an all-day pass for participants who can't stay overnight. However, we highly encourage you to stay for the full conference to fully immerse yourself in the experience and enjoy all the benefits it has to offer.\n\nWhat denomination is this?\n\nThis event is not focused on any denomination and we welcome women from all denominations. This is a Kingdom-minded non-denominational regional event, committed to helping women of all backgrounds, ages, nationalities, and groups.\n\nTicket Questions:\n\nIf I’m not able to come for the full conference or stay overnight, will I still be able to sign up?\n\nYes, there is an all day pass at RM 130 per day (meals included). Please fill up the registration details and let us know more about your situation in the “special remarks” section, you may state either one of this:\n\n* I can’t come for the full conference, I would like 1-day pass for Friday / Saturday\n* I can’t or won’t stay overnight, I would like a 2-day pass\n\nWe will adjust the pricing accordingly.\n\nCan I purchase a ticket at the door?\n\nYes you can, however, there will be an additional surcharge (RM10) past the closing date of registration. We recommend purchasing tickets in advance to secure a place for the conference.\n\nWhat meals do my tickets include?\n\nIf you have opted for the 2D1N tickets, these meals will be provided\n\n* Day 1 (Friday): Lunch & Dinner\n* Day 2 (Saturday): Breakfast & Lunch\n\nWhat is your refund policy?\n\nRequests received by 1 month before the conference date will receive a refund minus a RM30 cancellation fee. After August 1st, no refunds will be provided. You can opt to donate your registration to a girl / woman who might not otherwise be able to afford to attend _Devoted_.
